What is the NovoLog ® FlexPen ®?
The NovoLog ® FlexPen ® is a disposable, dial-a-dose insulin pen with a user-friendly design. Click below to see how to use it. NovoLog ® (insulin aspart) injection 100 U/mL is an insulin analog indicated to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus.
How long does NovoLog FlexPen take to work?
NovoLog FlexPen is a fast-acting insulin that starts to work about 15 minutes after injection, peaks in about 1 hour, and keeps working for 2 to 4 hours. NovoLog FlexPen is used to improve blood sugar control in adults and children with diabetes mellitus. NovoLog FlexPen is sometimes used together with a long-acting or intermediate-acting insulin.
How many doses does a NovoLog FlexPen contain?
Each NovoLog FlexPen contains multiple doses of the drug, but the exact number depends on your NovoLog dosage. You’ll use a new pen needle for each dose of insulin from a NovoLog FlexPen. NovoLog PenFill is a 3-mL insulin cartridge for use in a reusable insulin pen, which is used with insulin pen needles.
Can you use a syringe with a NovoLog FlexPen?
Another option is to use a pen needle with the NovoLog FlexPen. You can also use a reusable insulin pen that contains NovoLog PenFill cartridges. When using syringes or pen needles, you’ll use a new needle to inject yourself for each NovoLog dose. Injections with an insulin pump work differently.
Can I use NovoLog FlexPen with other insulin?
Call your pharmacist for new medicine. If you use an injection pen, use only the pen provided with your medicine. If you use this medicine with an insulin pump, do not mix or dilute NovoLog FlexPen with any other insulin. Change the medicine in the reservoir at least every 6 days.
How do I use NovoRapid® FlexPen®?
You must use the pen as described in the instructions on how to use NovoRapid® FlexPen®. Always ensure you use the correct pen before you inject your insulin.
